Their Special Pet Joins the Wedding—GREAT NECK RECORD OCTOBER 4, 2007

When Jill and Ed Weinstock made final plans for their recent wedding, they decided to include a very important family member in the wedding party. Max, the couple’s 6 year old Jack Russell Terrier was given the honor of escorting Jill down the isle.

Ed Weinstock explained that the idea of having Max in attendance came about because Jill’s father is deceased and her mother was unable to attend the wedding. The couple did not want Jill walking down the isle alone. “Max became our obvious choice to be the one to escort her.” he said.

Long Island, New York, Dog Walkers, Pet SittersTo help coordinate the plans for Max to participate, the Weinstocks contacted their dog walking service, Pet Sitters Club, Inc. of Great Neck, NY (www.petsittersclubinc.com). Company owners, Naomi and James Garfinkel, arranged for Max to be picked up by his dog walker at the Weinstock’s home in Manhasset and to be driven to Rafael’s Winery in Peconic in time for the ceremony. “We also wanted Max to be dressed in proper attire,” said Weinstock, “so we found a pet tuxedo that was a perfect fit for Max.”  After the ceremony, the dog walker and pet sitter who usually visits Max, took him home. The Weinstocks said that having Max at the wedding “made all the difference in the world and the guests thoroughly enjoyed sharing the experience of having him there”.

The Weinstocks said they value the on-going services provided by Pet Sitters Club. After adopting Max from a rescue shelter in New York the Weinstocks, since they both work, decided to find a trustworthy dog walking service to come to their Great Neck home to take care of Max, for feeding and exercise three days a week, and pet sitting for those times when they travel for vacation. He said, “We love Max and we did careful research. We would not trust just anybody to take care of him.  We knew that Pet Sitters Club had an excellent reputation. They have been dependable & professional and Max loves his dog walker”.

The Garfinkels started Pet Sitters Club in 1999 out of their desire to be in business for themselves and for their love of pets. Naomi Garfinkel said, “Like the Weinstocks, the hundreds of families that we serve treasure their pets. When a service is needed, customers want their dog, cat or other pet to remain in the comfort of their familiar surrounding. They want to avoid the trauma many pets experience when being boarded.”

Today, Pet Sitters Club serves over 800 households on the North Shore of Nassau County and in parts of Queens. The company’s staff of walkers go through a careful orientation and training process to assure that services are performed in a reliable caring a way.  Pet Sitters Club Inc. offers a wide range of valuable services such as:
